Subba Ghosh was born in New Delhi India and continues to practice in the city. He has studied at the College of Art, New delhi where he has done his BFA and MFA from. From 1984 to 1987 he studied painting, drawing and anatomy at the Surikov academy of fine arts in Moscow, Russia. He finished his MA in fine Arts from the Slade Scholl of Art, UCL, London UK with distinction in painting and Art theory in 1996. He was the recipient of the National Award from the Lalit Kala akademi in 1994 and also received the commonwealth scholarship to study in UK in the same year. Subba is the recipient of the Senior Fellowship from the Government of India. Subba’s work has been shown in various national and international exhibitions in various countries and is in various public and private collections like the NGMA. Subba has had 4 solo shows.
